About The Festival
May 1, Labor Day, doubles as the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. As part of the celebration, Pontevedra hosts the Sinaot Festival, a grand showcase of the town’s devotion and culture. “Sinaot” means “to dance,” and the weeklong festivities reflect the lively rhythm of the town and the Capiznon spirit. The celebration includes a thanksgiving mass, street dancing, trade fair, beauty pageant, and cultural presentations, all aiming to strengthen local pride and preserve Capizeño traditions.
