About The Festival
The Lingga-anay Festival, held annually from May 1-4, vividly expresses the Pan-ayanons' profound love for their homeland and commitment to their community. The name “Lingga-anay” is inspired by the “Dakung Lingganay,” the massive bell of Sta. Monica Church, renowned as the largest Catholic church bell in Southeast Asia, which puts Panay on the global map. Patriotic in essence, “lingga-anay” also means “to look back,” urging Pan-ayanons abroad to return home and invest in their native land. The festival began in 1987.
