About The Festival
The tradition of the Annual Town Fiesta, rooted in the spread of Christianity and the Catholic practice of honoring patron saints, remains a vibrant part of Filipino cultural heritage. In Ivisan, the Municipal and Religious Fiesta honors St. Nicholas de Tolentino every September 10. While historical records of the first celebration are scarce, the festivity now spans five days, from September 5 to 10. Unlike barangay fiestas, the town fiesta typically features a theme, which changed annually until 1993 when the management committee decided on a permanent theme: "Buyloganay." This local term, symbolizing unity and cooperation, the community’s resilience during disasters, was chosen to reflect the unique culture of Ivisan.
